Huish Christmas Concert Success

Crowd entertained by student performances

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in our Christmas concert.

Playing to a packed auditorium pieces ranged from our orchestra playing 'Troika' by Prokoviev through to the Huish Strings and staff choir performing 'Oh Holy Night' by Adolphe Adam and arranged by our very own Maths teacher Mr Sleaman. Stunning performances from our students included the BTEC Voices, Key Stage 3 choir and Imogen Holborn's solo violin piece, "Ladies in Lavender". As usual our A capella group were amazing as were our GCSE Music group who performed 'Let it Rain' by Hummel, Cecchini, Neeve and Fairclough.

Mrs Moll also wrote and produced an original piece of Drama entitled 'An Alternative Christmas Carol' which was exceptionally well performed by an ensemble of highly talented Drama students. While refreshments were all provided by Year 10 GCSE Food and Nutrition students led by Mrs O'Sullivan against a backdrop of an Art Exhibition in Huish Sixth by Art students from GCSE and Post-16.

The festive evening was rounded off by the brilliant Huish Jazz performing 'Big Band Holidays' and Huish Chamber Choir who performed 'Trurtle Dove' The encore of the classic 'Fairytale of New York' was the perfect conclusion to an outstanding evening of entertainment.

Well done to all involved!
