It is with great pleasure and much pride that I welcome you to the Huish Episcopi Academy website.
We are proud to be a non-selective 11-18 academy in Langport, Somerset and we are incredibly privileged to be part of the multi–Academy Trust, United Learning.
Our Academy consists of almost 1400 learners with 130 students in the Huish Sixth Form. Our academy is set in the heart of the beautiful Somerset levels. We have a catchment area of approximately 200 sq miles and work with 11 partner primary schools within our Community Learning Partnership.
At Huish Episcopi, we believe that every member of our school community should feel valued and belong, that every child matters and that every lesson counts. We believe that every student should be provided with an excellent education which allows them to flourish and achieve exceptional outcomes at all stages of their journey through the academy from Year 7 to Year 13. Our aim is to not only support students to achieve excellent exam results but to also develop as rounded individuals who have opportunities to develop key skills such as leadership, teamwork and communication through character education. Students within the academy can access a huge number of extra-curricular opportunities which allow them to experience new things, explore their interests and develop their talents. I am hugely proud of our developing sports teams, individuals and performers and all their successes.
Huish Episcopi is a highly inclusive school that caters for the needs of all students. We ensure our most able students are stretched academically and students with special educational needs and disabilities are expertly supported, allowing the Academy to ensure the best in everyone.
Within the academy, we expect everyone to embrace our core values of respect, ambition and resilience.
I hope you find the information on this website useful. Please do not hesitate to contact the Academy if you wish to organise a tour and see for yourself our wonderful students during a normal school day.
Very best wishes
